Inner Journey
This retreat is a process of insight and inner transformation, held within the framework of therapeutic breathwork and somatic therapies. Each day brings short teachings alongside guided experiential practices — breath, movement, sound healing, and meditation. Space is built in for rest and integration, so the body has time to process and anchor what has emerged. At the core is Somatic Therapeutic Breathwork — a practice that opens the body’s own intelligence and supports emotional healing from within.
Why Somatic Therapeutic Breathwork?
Where traditional talk therapy focuses on thoughts and emotions, transformational breathwork includes the body itself. History is carried in breath patterns, muscular armour, and in the fascia — the connective tissue that records unresolved stress and tension
Through conscious breathing, movement, acupressure, and meditative focus, breathwork helps to:
This work is not about bypassing the body — it is about entering more fully into it. When the breath regains its natural rhythm and the nervous system resets into safety, the body becomes both the foundation for healing and the gateway into higher states of consciousness.

A UNIQUE IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE
An Experiential Programme
This somatic retreat is a process of insight and inner transformation. The program brings together a unique combination of guided experiential processes (morning practices, daytime workshops, and conscious conversation circles), somatic practices (transformational breathwork, movement, and embodied exercises), and space to pause (time to rest, reflect, and connect with nature).
You will leave with a renewed sense of inner resourcefulness, carrying practical tools and embodied awareness to integrate into daily life.
Regulation: Small Intimate Group
Unlike many retreats, this is a truly intimate offering — limited to a maximum of 10 participants. This exclusivity creates the conditions for deeper connection, safety, and personal attention.
In a small group, the work can be tailored to individual needs while still being held by the collective field. Every voice is heard and every experience valued. Through co-regulation and shared practice, participants experience a sense of belonging and support that is often missing in larger retreat settings.
Integration: Tailored and Ongoing Support
This somatic retreat is not just four days away from daily life — it is a continuum of support and integration.
- Before the retreat: a 30-minute connection call to explore your needs, intentions, and desires, and to begin building trust before we meet in person. You will also receive access to our online platform with preparatory activities.
- During the retreat: individual guidance and support at the Quinta, ensuring your process is personally held.
- After the retreat: a supportive online integration programme with somatic, embodiment, and consciousness-expansion practices.
Many retreats feel like a “time out” from reality, only to fade once you return home. This retreat is different: it is designed to give you lasting resources, tools, and embodied awareness that will sustain your growth long after the retreat ends.
Safe Guidance: Experienced & Attuned Team
This retreat will be guided by Joanna Januszewicz — certified breathing coach and somatic integrative trauma therapist. Joanna’s approach is rooted in Hakomi, Gestalt, IFS, somatic psychology, attachment and developmental theory, affective and interpersonal neurobiology, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and body–mind integration, including breath analysis and deep bodywork. Her work emphasises both safety and depth, creating the conditions for participants to engage in profound inner transformation.
You will also be supported by:
- Administrative assistance online — ensuring smooth communication and organisation before and during the retreat.
- Guest facilitators — carefully chosen somatic practitioners, coaches, and therapists who bring fresh perspectives and complementary practices. Their presence adds richness and a touch of surprise to the retreat.
Together, the facilitation team creates a safe, attuned, and multidimensional container, so you can focus fully on your process.
Release & Surrender: Time to Pause
This retreat is both an immersion into deep inner work and an opportunity to rest, reflect, and restore. The body is given space to decompress and return to its natural rhythm.
You will step away from daily demands and immerse yourself in embodied self-awareness — walking in nature, resting in stillness, and gently expanding your understanding of yourself. The programme is designed with space for journaling, self-reflection, and slowing down, so integration can happen with ease.

Food Philosophy
Food at Quinta Marugo is fresh, nourishing, and deeply connected to the land. Guests enjoy a delicious selection of vegetarian dishes prepared with organic, seasonal, and local produce. The rest — cheeses, legumes, grains, and flours — is sourced from local organic farmers and sustainable suppliers.
Home-baked goods and desserts are prepared with natural sweeteners, avoiding refined sugar and processed ingredients. Vegan alternatives are available, and special dietary requirements such as gluten- or wheat-free diets can be accommodated upon request.
The guiding principle is clear: mental, emotional, and physical health are closely linked to what is eaten. A wholesome vegetarian diet supports cleansing, vitality, and renewed energy, while regenerative food-growing practices protect the environment for future generations.

Meet Your Instructor/Trainer
Joanna Januszewicz
Integrative Somatic and Psychosomatic Trauma Therapist
Joanna is an Integrative Somatic and Psychosomatic Trauma Therapist whose work bridges breath, body, and consciousness. Her approach combines therapeutic breathwork and body-based processing of trauma—through movement and sensation—with an exploration of how psychological and emotional patterns manifest as physical symptoms. She integrates insights from Hakomi, Gestalt, Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment and developmental theory, affective and interpersonal neurobiology, and psychodynamic psychotherapy, guiding clients toward regulation, embodiment, and coherence between body and mind.
Drawing inspiration from Alexander Lowen, Peter Levine, and other pioneers of body-oriented psychology, Joanna weaves together therapeutic breathwork, bioenergetics, and advanced somatic bodywork for trauma release and self-dearmouring. Her sessions support clients in transforming stored emotional imprints and reconnecting with the body’s innate intelligence as a source of clarity and power.
Trained extensively across Europe and Asia, Joanna brings an international perspective to trauma integration and consciousness expansion. She facilitates retreats, trainings, and individual sessions worldwide, creating safe and deeply transformative spaces where participants can release, integrate, and awaken to the living field of their own consciousness.
Her work rests on the understanding that embodied awareness is fundamental to consciousness — a living map through which healing, presence, and wholeness unfold.
Meet Your Yoga Teacher
Isabella Krause
Yoga Teacher
Yoga began for Isabella as a simple way to breathe a little deeper and move with more ease. Over time, it became a steady companion, something that grounded her, clarified her mind, and opened her heart. Her teaching grows from that same place: a curiosity for the body’s wisdom and a deep respect for the breath as a bridge between movement and awareness.
In her classes, Isabella offers breath-led, mindful movement that invites both strength and softness. She teaches with clear and caring guidance, creating space for each person to explore their own rhythm and pace. Her approach is inclusive and grounding, encouraging presence over performance and helping participants reconnect with the body as a living, feeling part of nature.
At the retreat, she will guide yoga sessions that support and integrate the deeper somatic and breathwork processes, helping participants land in their bodies, open their hearts, and return home to themselves with steadiness and ease.

What makes this retreat different from other wellness retreats?
This retreat goes beyond “time out” from daily life. It combines yoga, somatic therapies, and therapeutic breathwork with practices such as fascia release, body mapping, and shadow exploration, creating an experience that is both deeply transformative and safely held. Unlike larger group retreats, we intentionally limit participation to just ten people, so every voice is heard and every journey is supported with individual care. Integration support continues beyond the retreat, giving you tools and resources to bring the transformation into your daily life.
